About
At age 17, I enlisted in the U.S. Army. I was a senior in high school with a strong desire to be a soldier. I left the Army after four years as a sergeant to attend college at my dad’s urging. I found that through education, I could accomplish anything. I loved learning about biology and chemistry and became more connected to the world around me. That began my deep wonder and love for science and our world.
Over my 42 years in the Army, I learned to appreciate the diversity in nature and people. I learned to seek to understand that which we do not understand. I learned to meet people where they are. I also learned the power of simply being kind.
My calling has always been to serve. It shaped my years in the Army and continues to guide me. I serve with the hope of building upon humanity.
Leadership of Wounded Warrior Project
In March 2024, I became CEO of Wounded Warrior Project® upon the retirement of outgoing CEO Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Michael Linnington, who formerly held the role since 2016.
I joined Wounded Warrior Project out of love for its mission and vision. My passion stems from a deep belief that our military members deserve unwavering support in getting back on a path of hope and purpose. As I did throughout my Army career, I expect to lay out an innovative yet compassionate foundation for Wounded Warrior Project to continue supporting warriors and their families.
